美食指南《Where Chefs Eat》是由1923年成立的PHAIDON PRESS LIMITED出版社的作品，主要採訪名廚了解其平常真的會去消費的餐廳，每年更新版本，在全球發行量約10萬本，在台灣誠品或Amazon網路書店都能買到。不像美食家推薦餐廳時喜歡使用誇張形容詞，《Where Chefs Eat》廚師推薦的形容詞都很簡潔，理由也都很簡單。余偉經主廚推薦文慶雞，他說：「一天工作下來我喜歡找簡單的便當帶回家細細品嘗，這是最快速也最方便的方式，文慶雞價格便宜又好吃。」

又如談到永和美豆漿大王，余偉經說：「這是一般常見的台灣傳統早餐店，我最喜歡的是小火慢煮的豆漿、蔥花蛋餅、肉包及米粥。豆漿及米粥是我一天精神活力的來源。這家店最棒的是很多長椅，而且開到很晚，不只是早餐，也是很好的晚餐選擇。」又如Nicolas De Visch推薦FIFI茶酒沙龍，理由是：「這家餐廳把每道料理的川味處理的很平衡，菜單上的菜色不多，但發酵的黑豆醬和新鮮的辣椒讓人心醉，清蒸的海鮮也非常美味。」講到八兵衛則說：「我欣賞它的開放式廚房與他們團隊工作過程，你會發現原來小小的串燒有那麼多的過程。」本土小店也能上國際媒體，阿財蔬菜羊肉店長蔡富棋說：「太訝異了，根本想都沒想過，真教人驚喜！」欣葉則表示：「現在才知這件事。謝謝這些主廚，欣葉會繼續堅守崗位，把台菜的好味道一代代傳下去」。不過，主廚真心推薦，店家卻未必都領情。文慶雞店員回應記者：「老闆說我們生意已經太好了，不要再來採訪了。再見！」接著啪一聲，掛斷電話。(中國時報)，
